Seen this last night - gave my life a purpose for the next 6 months 😉

ooh, they moved it to the hottest part of the summer and dropped the two closest venues to me. :wtf: i had planned on doing the long haul last year, but know i don't know.

Might try the power tour...no cage yet so drag week wouldn’t be so much fun 😝

I was always disappointed in the choice of routes every year. They'd do better off rotating the circuit to different parts of the country on a 5-6 year rotation basis. One year is northeast, then southeast, then the Midwest, northwest, southwest, so on so on...

But no. They stick to the same general BS arrangement every year. Coasts get no love

I think the heat is part of the plan - street cars that can drive 1500-2500 miles and race everyday.

2019 was pretty close to the east coast - Philly, DC, Baltimore, southern Jersey. I can safely say being put through those 3 cities in rush hour traffic was a test for any old hotrod.

If it were in Texas or Idaho, then I'd be planning to go - California, eh,probably not. I'd like to see a southern state swing personally - Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Carolina's, etc would be great.

No one cares as long as you're reasonable. Watched tons of 9's and 10's without a cage. I think if you popped out an 8 there might be an issue.

I was stoked for power tour '20 when I saw it was ending in Madison. Now that it's ending in Champaign I'm a little less stoked but might still try to make a St.Lious and Champaign trip. For sure not going out to Ohio, that's a hell of a long trip and a lot of vacation to take that I don't think I can swing.

I might visit Thursday in Byron for Drag Week. Those last few days from Indy to Byron and Byron to Martin is going to be a really helacious trip and I expect a lot of attrition. Stuff is getting worn out those last few days and the entire Chicago metro area is a complete cluster. The drive from Martin to Norwalk and Norwalk to Indy isn't bad but sticking people through Chicago 2 days in a row is rough. If they take the south path by Champaign and Peoria going up to Byron it won't be bad but there is very limited ways to get around the Big Lake without going through downtown chicago and that does not sound fun. Hats off to those that can do that trip.

I understand the idea that your big cities are your big population bases, but, imagine a world where they take the tour through some nice country that's pleasant for driving -

Imagine a Maine- NH - VT - NY (upstate)? Or a NC - SC - GA - FL (atl coast)? Maybe a MS - LA - TX? WA - OR - Nor Cal? MT - ID - UT - WY? Maybe NV - AZ - NM - CO?

Those are rod runs where you go through places people would like to see and get some beautiful country in.. and the photo ops to boot.

People can still come from 1500 miles away. Now, I guess I get them trying to limit things to low altitude. There's plenty of cars that are "tuned" to where the elevation change would hurt drivability of participants, although, if you knew where you were headed to that could be compensated for.

But I think we can come up with events where your choices are more than just concrete jungles and the Midwest.
