Problems with radio/ac bezel not fitting

I can make it work but it's extremely tight. Felt like it was gunna snap with I put it in. Had to pull the square opening down some to get it in there

It seems strange that both styles have fitment issues so maybe there is some issue with the dash opening and it explains why the seller didn't have it on there when you bought it.

I'm wondering if I grind the insides of the square opening down some on all sides, if it would allow for the piece to sit flush
