ok.. i try to start my 69 olds with a radical cam.. and performance parts..

it turns over.. and it just keeps turning over.. then i slam on the gas.. and it like acts like its puttin or trying really hard but just wont go all the way.. any idea guys??

You might need too list some specs I.E. cam specs timing etc... That would probably help in to figure out what could be your problem. Do you have spark? Is it getting fuel? How is your timing?

..

the cam is like 274 i think
timing is around 12 degrees i think...

could it be something with the carb? im pretty sure its getting fuel but im not sure..

advance your timing a little and try it say 3-4 degrese

yes if it helps then your balencer timing mark may be off or your engine may just like the higher timing.

ok

i will advance the timing some more.. but a friend talked to me about predetonation or something of that sort to watch for??

yes that is why you only go a little at a time and if it dose not help then set it back where you had it. What carb are you using and octane fuel compression etc. ?

..

a friend of mine that knows a lot about cars.. told me retarding it to around 6-8 degrees might help more than advancing it more.. i'm using a edelbrock 650 cfm 4 barrel.. and im using just regular gas with 10 percent ethanol..

make sure all your spark plug wires are to the right cylinders, see if its getting fuel and spark also look for major vacum leaks
