New to this forum. Working on a 86 GP
Going to squeeze a 400 Pontiac engine in.
Just got Astro steering shaft today and installed it. Soon as the weather warms up
I will be painting the underside so I can put the engine transmission and rear axle in.

Welcome!! That motor hoist looks suspiciously like it used to be a back porch. Any comment about that?????

Ain’t the back porch yet, it has a job to finish.
Brothers didn’t think it would hold 1000 lb and the wife leaves the garage when I move it in place.

Welcome to the forum. Sometimes you've got to work with what you have. I know I have to fairly often. Your homemade engine hoist reminds me of the kind of stuff my dad used to do. If you don't have it, make it.

So you're gonna put a Pontiac 400 in the GP. What kind of transmission are you using? What other plans do you have for the car?

Using the 200-4R it’s been built to work with the engine, rear end is a 9”. Truly it’s a weekend driver. You know’. Movies, church that sort of thing

Yeah, she is smart not to be in the garage when I’m working in there. She comes in once an hour to make sure I’m not holding something up with my chest or see me running screaming we’ All going to die.
