BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

My garage was 70° last weekend and I barely actually worked on it for two hours, yet had 8 available. Shooting the breeze and having beers distracted me

Nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn’t occur everyday lol!

Finally spent the day working on the car. Actually working on it this time. 😅 Didn't get quite as far as I wanted but any forward progress is good at this point. Short list, installed flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch disc and pressure plate, bellhousing, cut hole in the floor for the shifter, installed slave on transmission, and ran the Holley wiring harness thru factory ecm wiring hole by passenger door. Which necessitated the removal of the inner fender.
Everything fought me and part of it was my fault. I bought ARP bolts to install the flywheel because the flexplate bolts were only holding it on by about 4 threads. Problem was the ARP bolts were even shorter. Said LS1 flywheel bolts on the package. Spent awhile trying to figure out if it was because I'm using a LS7 clutch which is different than all the other LS clutches. Finally realized my crank had a spacer on it which I never removed and was causing all of my issues.

Oh well problem solved. Now the factory bolts were actually too long and the ARP were just right. Just about dropped the flywheel on my face at one point, ripped my arm open a little but saved the money maker 🤣 Hopefully this week after work I can try to start muscling the transmission into place. Not looking forward to that. I feel like I'm going to have to take the shifter off to get it in, but I know the hole I cut isn't big enough to put the whole shifter assembly thru. We shall see. We'll here are the pics.

1st - the moneymaker? Where is she?

2nd - nice work - love the purple.

3rd - unless it's parallax, that clutch disc is no way centered in the pressure plate. Did you use an alignment tool/device or am I seeing things?

Taking notes.

Luk LS7 clutch kit. 👍
Flywheel brand and application?
Throwout bearing?

I have a TKO600 but it may make sense to go hydraulic over mechanical linkage plus safety bell housing over factory cast aluminum. 10-1/2” not enough.

Flywheel is also a Luk. Found them cheapest on Amazon, but double check as the price varies. Sometimes Rock Auto is cheaper. Kit includes pilot bearing and alignment tool. Slave/throwout bearing is stock Camaro replacement part, along with the clutch master. The kit actually comes with a slave cylinder, but it only fits the C6 Corvette supposedly. And I don't feel like yanking the transmission out again to change it out. LOL
