BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

I have ordered a different upper hose, think it will work but we shall see when it gets here. Plus at this point, I've dropped wayyyyy too much into it so I need to make do with what parts I have.

If it gets wonky with the hoses, just bend up a coat hanger and go match it up at the parts store. It usually gets some weird looks when you walk in with it lol.
I have the same Champion radiator in the Cutlass Jared and Sean have in the Camaro. It has worked flawlessly so far, and the hoses are simple and clean. I also have stainless T bolt style clamps which look nicer.

Actually the drivers side hits on the lower control arm mount towards the rear.
Does the passenger side header outlet point straight back or is it pointed a bit outboard, not parallel with the frame? IIRC, the F-Body passenger header points outboard. Just curious.

Hmm, I'll have to check. Now that you mention it I do think it points a couple of degrees off, but I thought it was inward, not outward. I'll check tonight.

Bingo! My internet sleuthing worked. $8.81 for a different upper hose and it'll work perfectly. Dayco part #71994 for Camaro accessories and stock radiator.

Unfortunately I haven't done anything to the car this week. Been feeling like crap, sore throat, been to the doctors twice. Plus a million other things going on around the house. I'll update that thread after this weekend. 😉

Without being sarcastic and arrogant, all header fitment issues are resolved with 3 tools : hammer, 4 1/2 grinder and welder. I understand it’s difficult to pound on or cut up a new, pristine set but most of the time no one will ever know other than you (p.s. don’t tell anyone and don’t take pictures and post them anywhere 😉 )

I'm planning to ruin the finish on my ceramic coated headers when I break my cam in. Then I'll get ruthless with them as needed and have them Cerakoated. I already beat the hell out of the finish on the passenger header installing and removing it 17 times to make it "fit".

The beauty of the stainless speed engineering headers is there is no coating to mess up. Mine turned a cool looking bluish orange hue from heating and beating (hehe), but those spots can't be seen.

Just avoid touching/leaving finger prints or smudges before starting & heating the SS piping. If you leave finger prints, the oils can get 'cooked' onto the tubing.
A quick wipe down w/some cleaner & the stainless maintains its finish.
