I would say more likely main seal. Check out the pic on my 170k mile 5.3 in my truck in post #1. I replaced the seal and leak fixed.
Everything is new and when I built it i followed directions to a T especially with rear main. 😠

Tony i did the same man, and my front seal basically leaked from day 1. It took a couple hundred miles to locate the source because the crank pulley was slinging oil on underside of water pump, fuel lines, dripping down pan to lowest point before dripping on ground. It wasn't hitting exhaust and smelling so I fought to find it.
FYI, front cover was new with new seal(prolly chyna). I installed a new felpro USA Seal and been fine since.

Well, the good news is that I know which pullers WON'T work. First three were too big, last just doesn't have enough lip on the arms to stay behind the bearing while using the slide hammer. I borrowed these from a friend. Ordered a different style off Amazon. Supposed to be here Saturday.

Yes, I hadn't realized there were two different bearings, I need the smaller one that sits further in the crankshaft. So now I need to remove this one.

Fill the hole with grease and hammer a socket extension into the hole. Let physics do the rest.

It sounds so easy, yet I've never been able to make it happen. You just end up with your crank hole full of crap.....

wait? wut?
