Boy that looks great, Donovan, you do nice work. The door looks perfect installed on the car.
You may have done it already, but you did lube up that door latch mechanism, right? Looking better all the time.
I think I’ve said it before, but I pity the first asshat that comes up to me and says I painted it white because “it’s very forgiving” and “white hides a lot of sins” because somebody gonna get a hurt real bad. Straight is straight, and not is not. Regardless of color. I’d certainly have no qualms about painting this car black if that’s what was called for.
Jersey Lightning!!!!I need a garage fire.
I finally got caught up again D just finished reading the last 10 or so pages. Your really banging it out now and adding fuel to my I need a garage fire.lol it looks great though and so far I'm very familiar with all the products your using. And I must say you lucked out on the back corner of that doorjamb keep up the awesome work now that I've posted maybe I'll start getting alerts on the thread again.
Not exactly what I meant. Let's try and keep some plausible deniability lolJersey Lightning!!!!
I know what it's like to make those doors fit and I must say it looks freekin good! Did you have to twist the shells at all? I tend to use a bundle of rags raped up tightly in the jam and some stedy pressure rather than the old school block of wood or dolly on edged parts. It seems to save me a lot of time with no scratches. Thanks Eric.
It’s nice to have you up to date and caught up on the thread again. I wish I knew why you guys aren’t getting alerts for the thread.
I’m still hammering away on the car, last night Mike came by for a special visit to help with last minute adjustments to the door and fender. Now I’ve not only got the panels back on, but some pretty sweet gaps and body lines:

After he left I spent the rest of the night getting the remainder of the stuff that’s slated to go grey prepped up. Tonight will be masking for a small paint correction in the jamb, and possibly even get it re-shot.
The promised major update is in the not to distant future.
Thanks all,
D.
