Well my cutlass will always be a project of mine. I will painting it original white and gold in the spring....But now the wife wants a car of her own because I wont even let her back my car out of the garage. I can get ahold of a 1980 Camaro Z28 for a good price. Hes a friend of mine and the car has sat for 9 years. The engine was rebuild and not done correctly, it smokes like a crop duster....Easy fix for me consider I build engines for a living. It has a TCI TH350 in it with about 20 miles, he put it in when he rebuild the engine....engine smokes so he hasnt driven it since. Take a look at the pictures, you can see some rot on the frame and such, nothing too major, also nothing on the body. Interior needs some work.

Let me know what you guys think. Again this will be a car for the wife.

well i assume you got a friend who does body work cause that bumper support got to be done and what appears to be a side frame... plus how fast and at what cost other than the engine work..?? dont we all know they want it done yesterday not another 6 month 1 year project GOOD LUCK

Well, I am self teaching body work. I redid a 3rd door on my truck. I had to do minor rust repair, fill a couple dents and I color matched it....So i will be doing the body work myself. I know this is going to be a big project. I just hope the wife has patience....He wants $750 and its negotiable. I think its a fair price.

the engine has a newer Holley dual plane intake, new distributor, 600 cfm Thunder Series Edelbrock Carb, He has a Comp Flat tappet cam. I dont know the specs. edelbrock water pump, new starter and alt., he has a B&M Ratchet shifter in it now but he has the original console and shifter. I do plan on going with a roller cam engine.

that rear bumper support and side frame looks like a donor car parts cutout and some welding if your up to it ...and she allows it !!!!

Shes gone this long without a "toy", I'm sure she can wait. She really wants it so I think im going to have to get it. I was concerned about the frame and bumper support at first but like you said, donor car cut out and away I go.

Or the other option is to wait for something mor solid? mabey even something she will like more will comeup?

if thats the 2 worst things and you can see it in your mind with a donar car in the yards thats a good price to start out OR $1000 and maybe cosmetic issues or engine that is less of a headache and a different car

A guy down the block had a 1981 Formula 265 in worse shape than this car and he wanted $3,800. I'd say it's a good deal, if you're prepared to do the work.

yeah its hard to just get a fair deal on something decent...i've been lucky but havent seen much left
