I got the interior ripped out and as I thought, I need floor pans. No big deal, I had to do that to the cultass as well. Looks like someone did some half *ss patch jobs. I will replace will full length pan. They will be here tomorrow.

I also snatched up a deal on a passenger frame rail. Its solid and complete with torque boxes. I picked it up for $85. The way the guy cut it out it has enough metal in the trunk area to repair the rotted spot. So it saved me from buying a trunk pan. As well as the rear seat belt area, which you can see in mine has been patched as well.

I took more pictures, but I dont want to bore you...rust is rust. Will have more updates after the weekend when I pull the rear and start drilling spot welds to put new rail in.

The blue is the new frame rail

Wow. Looks like you have some work ahead of you.
I guess I'm feeling ambitious. Once I dive into it, it should go along smoothly. That's the plan at least.

New floors came in today.

It could be a nice project. I would add up the price of parts and paint that need.to.be replaced. You have to try to keep emotion out of it and look at the car as if all.the damaged parts are not there, dash seats, paint, and thing even the little parts and then see if you can get a car thats better for that price. Unless the car is rare or means something to you i would not go there.

Ya I thought the same thing but with all the new parts the car already has in it, it was worth it. Its going to be alot of work but it wont be that bad. I know how to do everything myself. So I will only have the cost of parts, which I get big discounts from work. Then its just my time.

I believe it's a sound investment. They aren't worth a ton of money yet, but their value is climbing. Not so different from a Gbody. It's gonna be a cool, semi-rare car when it's done. You can't really factor in your labor anyway. That's not why we take on projects like this 🙂 . Keep us posted with the updates.

Are you gonna continue the build thread here or just move it to the new forum?
