Question about dropping the oil pan

I have owned 2 diff trucks and 3 diff trailers in the last 10 years. The wife doesn't mind the trailers as much as the stuff I "find" to haul on/in them ( one of many was a friends multicoloured 1978 Powerwagon sat in my driveway for almost 5 years on 3 flat tires ).
We now get along better with me DD'ing an AstroSafari and a 4x8x4 trailer 🙂

Re; the seatback I drilled out all the spot welds and broke it down to 3 pcs ready to go in once I get up the motivation to pull my interior.... again !!!. The weather is starting to break and the kids are going back to school so I will likely attack it in the next couple of weeks with some panel adhesive to hold it in place.

Re: the crossmember, I recall you had one shipped up from the US. Think you could get a stock 200r member and notch it where it won't interfere so you don't have to cut the exhaust ?? Here is a kijiji posting for one in my neighborhood. A little overpriced but it exactly what I will be doing when I get around to installing full length headers on my car.

I have 3 crossmembers and none work LOL.
I have the one from an 87 that I can't get off the wreck in my driveway, the modified one from the 81 in my garage that goes with a TH350 and the brand new 200-4R one that is made for dual exhaust but hits mine. LOL.

It is really close.
I figure I need about an inch. If we can bend the pipes up in front of the crossmember then forward again they will line up. It will shorten the exhaust a little but I should be fine. it could be a gentle slope too, not a sharp bend.

Just called a shop they said they would have to see the car. Next shop.

seems that's always the way it works for me too ! Let's take the most simple of tasks and make it complicated AKA Gods little Joke !

99% positive the 87 should be a 200r car and you could modify that one for nothing to get you rolling. There can't be much left of the carcass by now is there to cut the floor and get access to the top of the bolts ??

You are likely right George.
I just don't know if I have the time or the energy to start cutting the car up thinking it might work.
I'm sure an exhaust shop could fix me up in an hour and I'm out the door. Everything under the car in the garage is clean or new so there shouldn't be anything to slow them down.
