Question about Malibu tail lights

With the exception of the 78 year car will tailights from any other year of 'Bu interchange without changing to a different year rear fascia? I am looking at a 79 or an 80 but i like the tailights of the 81 with the back up lights near the license plate area instead of in the middle of the lenses.

way nicer looking than these, and i OWNED one of this year before 😢

Direct bolt-in swap. Had a set of 81-83 tails in my 79 bu years ago.

creeper975 is your 80 the factory grey paint? I had a 80 that same color but i painted it 78 corvette anniversary silver metallic (same color as the bottom half of the 78 corvette pace car as well).
