Ok, So the 350 I recently put in My 85 Cutlass Supreme Brougham just got Killed, Due to a bunch of Idiots putting 40/50 Oil in My Car when I Told Them the Oil to put in.
So I just Shelled out for a 350 Crate for $1,900(My Poor Bank Account).
I'm getting a 3,000 Stall Torque Converter, But I need to Know what Kind of Rear Posi I need, And from what Car? So it's a Perfect Fit.
Also the Size of the Torque Converter would be Appreciated.
Like I Said before, I'm still Learning about the Ins and Outs of Muscle Cars.
Cause I don't want to Buy Them and have Them not Fit.
My Cutlass started out as a v6 if that's any help.

Here's the specs for the Crate Motor I just Copped.
330HP @ 5000rpm and 390ft lbs of torque @ 3500rpm

The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, and balancer) featured in this engine:

* 3.484" stroke nodular iron crank
* 5.7" forged rods with ARP rod bolts
* 9 to 1 compression flat top pistons
* Seasoned 4-bolt main block
* Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal
* New CompCams hydraulic flat tappet high performance cam
* 76cc heads with 1.940"Int/1.500"Exh valves
* New 1.250" high performance springs set up to match cam
* New High temperature valve seals
* New Spiral-type valve guides
* New Screw-in rocker studs with guide plates
* New Steel rocker arms with balls and nuts
* New Hardened push rods
* New Perfect Circle rings
* New Double row timing set
* New High volume oil pump with welded big pickup screen and steel drive shaft and steel guide
* New Revolutionary 1-pc design molded rubber oil pan gasket with load limiters to prevent over-tightening and higher temperature resistance than standard cork-rubber gaskets
* New Brass expansion plugs
* New Edelbrock (non-egr) Dual Plane Performer aluminum intake
* All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look

I'm not a complete drag-car expert, but in my opinion. Your stock drivetrain should hold up to that amount of power. If you're looking for a posi unit ,every gbody I think could be had with a posi rear. So I think it's just a matter of looking for a tag attached to the rear cover on an axle of any gbody. I would suggest looking under monte carlos, elcaminos , regals and cutlasses because you might have a better chance looking under one of those than say a four door malibu. I can't remember what the metal tag say's but it's something about using the right gear lube. If you see that tag then turn the tire, if the other side turns in the same dirrection that you're turning than it's a posi.

And I don't Know the Specs of the Camshafts. But I Think They're Mild, Not to Suped up.

DO you know what it has in it for gears now? And what kind of transmission do you have?

Next question, what are your intentions with the car. Drag car, weekend warrior, cruiser, highway car.... or somewhere in between? These are very important to consider when choosing new rear gears.

The Transmission is off an 85 Monte Carlo.
I'm going for somewhere in between with the Car.
Not too Suped up that I can't Drive it on the Streets, But yet, I'll still be Burning almost anything on the Highway.
I have a Stock Torque Converter, And I Think the Rear Dift is the Original that came with My Cutlass.
Here's the Specs for the Cams.
Duration @ 50,00 2/24 .470 stall ground 1/10 lobe center.
I forgot the rest, But like I Said it's a Mild Cam

Awesome Car Man! Thanks for losing the vinyl top :D
I actually liked the Vinyl Top :cry: . But that Thing is hard to take care of, Especially in New York City, Our Weather is Crazy. So it had to come off.
I went through Hell and back with this Car, There's not much Help out here when it comes to Muscles.
Mainly cause everyone is into Imports.
So I had to find everything out on My own.
But yeah, Any Tips would be greatly Appreciated.

Well I like it without the vinyl top too it looks really nice.

Don't know too much on the gears we only sell used when we get them.
