Hi all. My 80 Monte has an area near the battery tray that is rusted through. I can patch it, but I ran across a 79 Malibu core support for cheap. Will the 79 fit my 80 without mods, or will it be a cut and fit job? Thanks.

It should be the same radiator support. They're both single headlight cars. Rad supports are fairly plentiful(or they used to be), so it doesn't pay to patch up a rusty one. ...just my $.02.
My monte has 4 headlights. So that's the only difference, opening for the lights. So I guess it will work if I do a little cutting?

You can always place the core supports side by side and inspect any differences. But I think you'll be good with the Malibu support with the slight modification.

Are 4 door and 2 door core supports the same? Can't see why they would be different but gotta ask.
I know this is an old post, but there's no difference between a 2-dr or 4-dr core support.

Certainly did Longroof79. The core support went in with no problems. The only difference I was able to see was that the hood height adjusters were in the core support of the malibu and my monte adjusters are on the top bracket that hold the core support. I just unscrewed the adjuster and all went well. Thanks again!
