Hey dudes, whats up? Well im building a 5.7 Vortec monster for my 86 GPX LE... the problem is going to be in the REAR END... i want to atleast upgrade it to a 8.5" What options do i have besides one from a GNX or 442? Mostly direct bolt on, since i dont really feel like welding anything up... thanks...

If you want a direct bolt-in then you have to get one from a gbody

....also, unless you are going to be pushing more than 500 bhp and launching the car all the time, you DO NOT need anything more than a built 7.5"

well, where can i get mine re-built... make it posi... kinda indestructable status, i think i might push atleast 400HP... thanks for the info...

start getting close to the circle track guys around by you, they always have good stuff lying around, and are willing to get rid of it fairly cheap.

Buy the housing I just listed in the classified section.

Only welding needed would be a crossbar for a ladderbar mounts and panard bar if you wanted to use one.

Use the Autofab "Prostreet ladderbar" with the poly bushing for the ultimate strett/strip combo! 😀

....or you could just buy new gears and a spool for your current rearend. New alxes would also be a good choice and obviously a complete rebuild kit for the rearend

i wouldnt waste any money on a 7.5 stock fbodys break them... i plan on finding an abody rear end for my car, from what ive gathered its a pretty easy swap, you just end up with a rear thats a little wider and need to run more back spacing to make up for it...

can you guys tell me if this would work! if so i can buy it...

IM SELLING A GM 10BOLT 7.5 POSI CASE IT HAS THE RING AND BEARINGS INSTALL WHAT YOU SEEN IN THE PICS IS WHAT YOU GET IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION IM ASKING 200 OR BEST OFFER

ya'll crack me up with your talk about breaking a 7.5" I bet there isn't one person on this site (unless you have a complete drag car) that has broken a rearend :?
