Am i seeing things or are there coil spring boosters in there so the spring isn't working?

No I saw it too, maybe that's why they were installed to try and hide the noise or just rip somebody off, who knows.

Well when you mess with a system it puts strain on the other parts, therefore the spring and shock are basically a big metal bar so the clunk could be a various things..lets see some pics of the trunk with a carpet. There are 2 mounts famous for not being noticed.

Unfortunately, I have no access to the trunk at the moment. The previous owner had the foresight to shave the lock, and then recently a whole other mess came about when the system for opening it failed. I have another thread all about that; check it out.

So, when I get off of work tomorrow, what exactly do I need to take pictures of? Should be a short route, so I could get them up sooner rather than later if I've got a good list to check out around 1 PM Eastern.

So, I checked out around the exhaust pipe like jrm suggested, and he was right; where the pipe runs over the axle, there is a nice collection of scuff marks. So, would that be something to do with the hangars? And even with that corrected, I'm still not sure what's causing the car to drop so heavily on the bumps. Thanks.

That's good to hear, hope thats all it is. Redo the hangers or just wire it up for now to see if it does solve your problem. As far as the back moving to much on bumbs, you may just need some new shocks(might have blew one out when you hit those tracks).

You know what? Come to think of it, I replaced the shocks after I broke the housing, but before I knew that's what I did. Maybe Gabriel Guardians are crappy shocks?

Or if the spring isolators were left out during the rear swap it could have lowered the car just enough to cause clearance issues with the exhaust.
