All right, here are some pictures. I'm not sure what I'm trying to photo though, so if you need to see something else, let me know.

See what you can see!

Do your brakes work? I ask because it looks like your drivers side wheel cylinder or line is leaking. It looks like the passenger side is good though.

yeah, they seem to work fine.

rear

yes it could be the body bushings....BUT the cushions have to be there on the springs.....

i feel the mechanic that swaped out your rear axle is a dummy,he left the cushions out and now he needs to install your cushions and not make you pay anything to get it done!!!

as a professional ase master tech and have over 30 years pulling wrenches this guy hurts our reputation.....this guy is trying to cover up his mistake...

the important thing about the spring cushion is it's also a isolator.. with out it you'll hear all kinds of noise.... so get him to put them in...it's not your fault that he left them out....if he says he doesn't have them, go get you some new ones and have him put them in.

before you can diagnosis anything you need to start at the most obvious problem...... jesse

I agree the spring isolators should be there but i still don't think they would create a banging noise. Get them replaced anyways before you go much farther. Look around the exhaust pipe for scuff marks. Also look on the top of the rear diff cover and the gas tank for marks. And pay close attention to the pipe where it goes over the axle nd where its close to the upper contol arm. I'm just throwin out ideas for possible rattles. If the diff hits the pipe up into the floor it makes one hell of a bang.

That could be it; both have been replaced recently. Honestly, when I hit a bump in the road it feels as though the rear end just isn't connected to the rest of the car. Like it's becoming separated.

Could you jack the car up, take tires off and get some pics of the front side of everything?

there's too much fluid to be the brake, the reservoir would be empty by now...

remove the wheel and drum and I bet ya the axle seal is leaking...and that means axle is probably junk with a groove worn in it and the brake pads are toast too......

I took it to a friend to get it thrown up on a lift; sorry I didn't take pictures. He said that on top of the isolators missing, the driver's side axle was bent. Now, I've found a newer rear end through another friend, but I still wanted to know if that being bent would cause the car to bang and bounce like that?

Joono - I saw your signature, you got a helluva deal. I think the Lumina solely set back chevy's reputation about 10 years . 😱
