rear off center

I had the same problem on my el camino and I thought something was wrong with it buts it's normal I threw a spacer on one side and called it good

The engine and transmission are definetly off set to the passenger side just a tad. I had to cut an offset hole in every g-body hood that i've had my blower in. I'm not entirely sure wether GM offset the rear on purpose or not. My guess would be that it's just wide tolerance allowances.
