its funny you should mention that because i just recently was doing some searching and found that, and also found the struts on ebey, new replacments. is that just a bolt in deal? cause i did go with 6x9s and adaptors, but i feel like am losinng alot of sound through the trunk and would like to try what my original plan was still and may utilize the adaptors still to do it. i am running infinty refrence 6x9 3 ways in the back, and infinity refrence 3.5s in the front, and wow what an improvment, they sound great. the fronts were hard to install to, actually just got those in yesterday, the tweeter is vvery large and does not clear the factory grille. i originally was going to cut just a hole for the tweeter but the grille slats broke, so i took em all out. so my current plan to dress that up is, im going to reuse some speaker grille mesh form an old set of 6x9 grilles and makee my own for the 3.5s. anyone who says 3.5s cant sound good needs to hear these.

I can not see anything different about the hinges themselves .... so I am inclined to say it's a "bolt-on" affair ... btw was there more than one set on Ebay ... part of me would like a spare set - I do believe mine are the originals and am quite surprised they still work.

there were a few, and i belive they were through an ebay store or somthin like that

I am putting 6.5" components in the 1/4 bolsters .... the openning with the fabric panel seems the perfect size and placement .... I probably won't even have rear deck speakers.

i thought about the whole under the quarter window thing, but this is just my opinion it looks tacky. im actually getting ready to reupholster pretty much the entire interior that has fabric on it, with tweed, which i know some may find tacky but i like it, i have plans to install two chevy bowtie lense cut outs in the rear panels with lights behind them wired into the courtesy lights. im going to try some struts out for the trunk, and see about making what i had originally planned for the speakers.
