On top of that, with a taller gear like a 3.08 the teeth are thicker, which makes the ring gear less prone to any distortion it may have... in this case though it's more in the housing itself than the gears I believe.
Some questions were asked about the 8.8 rear. It isn't a bad swap. The availability and cost definitely add to the appeal. The factory posi unit isn't that great. And just for the record, I have yet to break my 7.5.
