Buy whatever you can find and afford. Generally the better names have better quality, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes they just have better resale value. My tools have been pieced together through the years via necessity or a great price - new and used. Better quality for the higher use items.

The box was my dads, gifted to me after he retired as a diesel mechanic. My brother got the “other half” which is basically identical. Pretty cool - he raised a family and put two boys through college with it. You couldn’t pay me enough to get rid of it, and hopefully some day my little guy will want it.

Is the 700 and 1200 ft/lbs legit for the Dewalt 20 volt impact? I also found one that looks the same in town with a 400 ft/lb rating in town for a similar price, it seems much more realistic.

I don't know.

But I can tell you this this breaks free everything I put on it .

If it doesnt have a load on it when you pull the trigger it will snap your wrist.

And it has 3 different torque settings on it.

and to this day I have yet to kill the batterys

I have a 400 ft/lb corded that is similar. I need to look over the box in store and see if similar claims or a part number matches Amazon. I can wait till it is on sale or get it on Amazon.
