Here's the progress of my surge tank install so far. Wiring is a modified hotwire harness from Racetronix. I just need a couple weather pack pins for the wires off the surge tank. The relay trigger wire comes out of the loom near the distributor and will be spliced into the choke wire ( which I have running off the old ECM power wire/fuse ).

Here's the RobbMc regulator too. I mounted it to my old EGR solenoid bracket that I cut up.

Here's a pic of just the tank. This things built like a brick $hithouse. It's heavier than I thought it would be.

Can't really do much more as I'm waiting on parts, but I was able to do a bit more work on the tank by installing some of the fittings and weather pack connecter on the wires.

To mount the surge tank, I'm able to use the 2 factory clips that were used to secure the vapor cannister. All I have to do is weld them together as one end easily bolts onto the bottom stud on the tank. I will probably just end up bending a single piece of thin steel and drilling a couple holes on the ends though. Don't currently have a fully equipped garage right now so cant even accomplish that minor project...

Thanks. Haven't gotten much further on this due to Napa ordering the wrong part and Carbs Unlimited sending me a defective part.....

OK, obviously nobody really seems to be interested but....., the install is finally complete with only one strange snag, fuel leak on stock mechanical fuel pump. Even using a different line, it leaks. Seems the line I was using has a burr/deformity and I believe it damaged the flare on the pump. Ordered new pump for $17. Will be here soon.

On a good note, no leaks anywhere else and the tank itself is very quiet. You can't even hear it! Nice!

I had thought about running a surge tank on the wagon. I ended up heavily modifying a new gas tank.

I didn't see this thread before, what engine are you running?

I also like the use of whatever stock equipment you have. Makes for a cleaner install IMO.

Just saw you were carbed. Are you switching to efi?

Engine is a bored and stroked Olds 350 diesel block build ( 440 cid with big block heads ). With the stock mechanical fuel pump, it would cut out cuz it couldn't keep up. Quick test today shows it doesn't cut out anymore but I didn't really push it to the extreme yet.

I might go EFI someday but will stick with my trusty Qjet for now.
