Just remember the Q-jet has a small fuel bowl too, I love those carbs though.

Clean install!

Engine is a bored and stroked Olds 350 diesel block build ( 440 cid with big block heads ).

I've heard that these diesel blocks are a somewhat costly build. Do you have a build thread about it? I came across a DX block recently for a good price but it seemed like a lot of work and cash to build one.

Yes, small bowls in the Qjet is probably the main reason I needed to go to an electric fuel pump.

The 440 builds are costly yes. So why do that when I could've just built a 455 instead for cheaper? Because a guy I know builds these 440's all the time and knows every in and out building them. I trust him. Also wanted a small block for various reasons.

I don't have a build thread on it but I can say the build required custom pistons ( forget cost ) and the crank was about $900 itself. So yes the costs were higher but not by too much to dissuade me from doing it. Hey I got to reuse my expensive American Racing headers!

Nothing wrong with doing something a little different. Quality machine work and parts make a build go through the roof fast but it's worth not spending the money twice.
