no thats not true these are not the lt1 lifters

larryo454,
I'm puzzled why you quoted my post and then didn't address the question I was wondering about :?: . I'm not upset at all just amused by it! The reason I asked that question was no one asked that question on the three forums I read concerning the OE lifters in a GEN 1 block (I did a search of OE roller lifters in a GEN 1 block/Corvette forum....for one). IIRC, this topic was discussed back about 2006. Did I find the topic interesting,,,yes! Would I do this modification myself,,,no! I don't think you'd save money in the long run (the main purpose for this swap), such as having a small base circle cam ground to keep the lifter down in the lifter bore, etc. Also, spending 6 hours of flat filing the lifter bore tops, radius grinding the dog bones, and clearancing the block at the water and hope the dog bones sit flat and true isn't my idea of fun!
One man liked it because he likened it to Hot Rod ingenuity!!!

My concern, other than the lifters sticking out of the bore, is the three holes that need to be drilled and tapped to hold down the spider. They will be awfully close to the cam bearings.

sickolds,

I think done properly it will work (as a mild build with a tame cam) in a street motor. As I stated before, I did a web search and read three forums about this swap. I think it was in the Corvette forum that they talked about cams. I can't answer your questions because I have formed my opinion from what I've read, not what I've done! One man discussed minimum specs. for street roller cams that I also found interesting. My suggestion to you would be to do a web search, read as many forums as you can find on this subject. Take notes of part numbers, specs., and questions you would like answered. Then read the posts again.
Good luck to you!!!

what!!!! no they wont its on top of the oil gal. you have never rebuilt an engine have you?

Wow, might want to slow down there. Didn't think about the oil galley, which I still wouldn't be crazy about running into. I was just thinking about it because the factory roller blocks have at least half to three quarter inch bosses for the bolts. And yes I built 4 small blocks last summer alone.
