I'm not seeing it. Waay waay back in the day there was no aftermarket support, and people had to try things that have never been done before, is that what you mean?
I'm talking about the specific thing you are doing, plenty of parts available. Yes they are much more expensive. And no, i'm not knocking what your doing. But if it were me, i'd just start with a roller capable block, since you're starting from scratch. Then you know there will be no issues.

On another note, did you use any type of sealant on the bolts holding down the spider?

thats the thing am 350 into it plus its a 4 bolt main and a very good block 3970010 am the first to really open these block up

Quite understandable. Anymore I don't get to caught up into the 4-bolt or 2-bolt. Or what block casting it is. I'm putting 7lbs of boost to stock cast pistons, so no need to worry about block strength, the pistons will go first, lol.

I'm running a supercharger and as long as I don't push the timing and a/f mixture they seem to handle it fairly well. My entire rotating asembly is 100% stock, but I don't really recommend that. I just can't afford to do it right so I do it cheap. It helps that I have 3 more engines on the porch just in case.
