Well done!

Even as cheap as I can be sometimes, I'm pretty sure I would have opted for something else just for peace of mind. A flat tappet cam is something I don't think I would skimp on, especially when the rest of the engine is at stake.
But on the other hand, I always have way better luck when I literally just throw something together without a care in the world.

Aren't the lobes Nitrided? I would figure that to be compromised......
Actually most lobes are treated by a process called "Parkerizing". Its a chemical process that helps resistance to wear. The "break in" process (2500 for 30 min.) does the rest.
Or at least thats what the machine shop owner told me.
Cool score.

Great idea... if only there were more parts to buy. Trust me... I asked. This was a project that his son started and never finished. Son sold the car, and most parts went with it. Cam had been sitting in the garage since 2008. The packing slip proved it.

Awesome. Everybody loves a good score. That's the best deal I have seen in quite a while.
