It is a long way off before I would do this. I have just been throwing the idea around in my head. I have plenty of time to look at the pros and cons of it and make a decision. I just like fox bodies. I've always wanted one but could care less for building a ford engine. I have seen a couple around here but do not know the people personally to ask them how they did it. The pros for me: I know around here I can buy a roller super cheap, I have a friend is a Ford mechanic and works on these cars daily he knows his stuff and is very good at electrical so any wiring issues I know he would figure out for free, power to weight of course, aftermarket support is endless, they look cool to me. Cons for me, I would say I will have to budget probably a 1k extra on the price of the roller just to get the engine in and drivetrain set up, and like driven said selling it would probably be difficult. As far as not using an F body, I already have one with an lt1 in it, I kind of want something different and the appeal of a fox body is high to me. This idea is not set in stone. Just a fantasy at the moment. Thanks for all the input.

A buddy of mine has a 90 lx that he put a ls1 n t56 in and he used the af termarket k member everything was actually fairly simple I helped him drop it in he used the aje k member and I actually liked it so much I convinced my pops to build one he got a coupe body now looking for the drivetrain

Yea it looks to be a rather common swap now. Obviously if they selling swap parts for it then it shouldn't be too difficult. I really just like the fact that they are super light especially with weight reduction. Parts are everywhere for them and even if I did sell it down the road I don't think it would be super difficult to get rid of it. I know there are a lot of people like me that wouldn't mind having one but don't care for Ford engines. Hopefully I can make this happen in the near future. I am not in the position to be buying and modding car stuff right now but hopefully over the summer I will have the extra cash.

Built Ford tough with Chevy stuff!!!

I like the idea of a Chev engine in a Ford, seems to upset the ford guys pretty bad. 😀 I have thought about trying to find a fox body to put my spare GN running gear in but it is hard to find a good clean fox body for cheap around here.

I work with 2 big mustang guys. One has a LX with a 331 stroker. The other guy has a Big block ford in one and a put a chevy 400 in the other. Me im not a fan of mustangs. I like to be different. So if i did have a mustang id put a Oldsmobile small block on it. That would be interesting.

I agree olds in a mustang would be interesting. I've been thinking about who powered old 280z or a fc Rx7

I just finished a BBC swap into an 89 mustang. I used the PAracing k-member with the 1.5" drop rack option which was definitly necessary. I used dynatech headers and stock lower front a-arms with minor trimming. I used a turbo 350 with a FRPP adjustable transmission crossmember with a few easy modifications. To make the swap easy and get the most benefit you definitly should go to an aftermarket k-member. You can see my car and motor on my blog www.therocketshop.blogspot.com if you want. The car originally was a 4 cylinder then i swapped in a sbc with the stock k-member now i've switched to a BBC. The stock k-member sbc swap requires notching the oil pan or maybe getting offset rack bushings. The exhaust system is a real pain untill you go to a aftermarket k-member then you have lots of room.
