Do you have a means of measuring the installed height? If yes, then most everything should be reuseable (I believe). This is not a quick process to do it right - right meaning measuring and shimming as needed. Of course you can just chuck them on there and call it good. If you don't expect to be spinning this much over 5500-6000 rpm's, then I'm sure it will work. It's a matter of your concern for making sure it is precise or 'kinda close' lol.

I'm confident that if you were to contact Promaxx and tell them the spring your looking to install, then they could confirm if you need different locators, shims, retainers, etc. I would do that if I were in your shoes.

I would check what you have first the comp 986 spring is not that great and may have the same pressure as the flat tappet springs you have.

Those are the same springs I use in my 306s flat tappet cam. Spring dia. is different which might require different retainers.

3/4 of the cams in the Comp catalog recommend using those springs. They are about the equivalent of the infamous 'Z28 springs' that came to fame on the DZ302.

Correct me please if I'm mistaken.
