BUILD THREAD Seem like forever

Just found this thread. Going to be a wicked ride! You have to give a little history about her.
Well I owned the car since 86 I bought it from a junk yard it was a stolen/recovery. I first rebuilt the v6 that it originally came with. After reading a ton of hotrod magazines I was hooked on making it a race car. So I built a sbc a four bolt main 355 . I put a turbo 400 trans in it along with a Currie enterprise 9 inch. I seen their ad at the back of one of those magazines. The car ran a 12:40 at its best. Had a engine issue and that’s when it sat until around five years ago. That’s when I decided to do this one more time. I’m building it like the old 60 nascars where they tore the carpet and headliner out put a cage in it then went to the races.

i put together my coilover shocks and sway bar. Lots of grinding and fitting. It took me two weeks on each side to complete with refinishing. It takes me a little longer because the underside is refinished and clean so I mask everything off so not to trash everything with grinding debris and overspray. Everything is from UMI as you can see from the stickers lol… BC532BAC-EF19-43D8-80CA-FD1BE14D4417.jpeg62EA36DE-31B1-4199-843E-746684F718FA.jpeg3B49EDB5-F641-4A8E-A71D-9016471F9308.jpeg7F7D243F-EA41-409C-A09F-5D0A35493ECE.jpegDD505A73-B30E-4067-A3D3-1AA3E245155B.jpegF0146025-891A-4D04-90FD-465C8375C67D.jpegCEC2A848-9416-46E6-B1C1-6A6B98F2900F.jpeg

I put the rear brakes together. I had a long ,kind of frustrating week trying to get the electronic parking brake to fit. In conclusion they will not fit . They extend further inward and hit the frame ( in the front) and hit the shock in the back. I thought It might have been a mistake installing the coil-over shock setup that it was the issue but realized this setup will not work on gbody’s with factory shock and spring setups. So a fair warning for anyone thinking on buying willwoods EPB system it won’t fit on gbody. I’m going to post a question what have other people been doing for parking brake on manual transmission cars with rear disc brakes?E4048741-78F0-43AB-9682-6258D41D3D20.jpeg Or do I not worry about putting any parking brakes on the car, keep it in gear and maybe carry a set of wheel chocks

Going to throw this at you (as I’m trying to do but with drums). Gather all the parts off an F body for an e-brake. You need all the mounts under body braces (they are part of the seatbelt bolt braces) and cables. Hand pull as it all sits offset to the shifter on the F body. And if you get the section of floor for cable travel through and weld in with the mounts.
Otherwise look at the electric brake setup from Kindiget

I’m running the wilwood superlites that have the internal parking brake. I’ve got some fabrication work in front of me to mate the GM cable to the wilwood.
