Thermal underwear and a fleece hoodie. That's why I'm not getting anything done for the past 2.5 weeks.

My brother n law has this beast in his 2-1/2 car garage. He also has a heat/ac window unit but it doesn't do near the job the wood stove does. He gets wood delivered for $60/rick and it's currently about 70° in the shop, and about 30° outside.

I wish I had working heat in my garage. 🙁 I have an ancient wood/coal furnace (from the '20's/'30's?) that hasn't been used since the early '70's. Been here for two years & haven't got it checked out or fixed the rusted out exhaust pipe. :blam: Be nice to cook a few squirrels that sneeks by the pipe.

Radiant floor heat is definitely the best. I got estimates when I built my garage about 20 years ago. My garage is 24 X 32 X11 . Getting a boiler to do my garage and later room by room of the rest of the house would cost 10 grand then. And I'd only have the garage finished. So I went with the gas overhead radiant tube heater across the center of the garage. I had worked in body shops in the 70s and 80s that had them installed when I was working there. Such a huge improvement over the old forced air ceiling units and much safer for BS because there's no exposed flame. I payed $2,500 for mine, other than wishing I could have afforded the floor heat, I've never regretted what I bought. Ps. No problems at all after all these years.

My home shop is divided up with 450 square feet being the "dirty room." The rest is set up as the clean room and parking of the finished stuff. The dirty room is insulated for the north pole. and has an enclosed ceiling. That is the only area that I heat. I have this small 220 electric unit that does OK. But when i starts acting up, I think I'd step up to something a little bit larger.

For scale, here is the rest of the room. It's an old picture and there is a lot more stuff on the walls and there is a ton more equipment now. But I can still get one vehicle in there, open the doors and walk around it without too much drama.
