I want to change my header panel from single to dual headlight, what do I need to take from the donor car to make it work? Do I need fenders, hoods, and how much headlight wiring harness

Looks like a good score. Aside from the '82+ header panel, you'll need the headlight harness, or sections of the harness, plugs, etc...radiator support, or modify the openings to fit the extra headlights. That's about all I can think of.
I would remove the entire forward harness from the firewall plug forward. If the donor has a good rad support and it's cheap enough, grab that as well.

Front fenders on the 82 and up also have the yellow side marker light in them due to the corner light not wrapping around. The header will fit the 78-81 fenders you just will not have the side marker

Hope this helps!

You're right, Bob,
But many guys prefer to use the early style fenders sans the side marker lights.

I agree 100% on that Jack!
After I got these fenders home for my El Camino the first thought was how much cleaner it would look without the side markers.
Being new GM sheet metal I couldn't bring myself to cut the antenna hole let alone weld up the side marker light holes.

You made the right decision my friend. I wouldn't hack up a new set of fenders either...especially new OEM sheetmetal. It's like committing sacrilege.

Thanks guys, so will I still have turn singles in the front or I might trade my finders for 82+ they are solid. I also need a harness

You'll still have the front

You'll still have the front turnsignals, just no side marker lights. I think it looks cleaner.

The 82 and up wiring harness won't work with 81 down engine harness you have to splice and make a headlight harness from the two cars when you convert it. For me when I did it I did fenders with sidemarkers, header panel and headlight wiring since I update the whole malibu to 82- wiring thur out the car. If you have a single headlight core support you just have to cut to widen the holes where the light go since all core supports are the same other than the headlight shape. If I was you since I did the swap I wouldn't do it cause it a lot of work. Just get some good headlights and be happy with it. Or get a regal /cutlass 81 and down dual headlights harness so it would work with your engine harness at the firewall. Do the 82 and up header panel and just don't swap fender unless you have to have sidemaker lights then it would work.
