Yes indeed! Built in the USA and imported by GM Belgium! Nowadays it would not be possible to registrate a car with so-called "Einkammer-Ruecklichtern" (translated: one chamber backlights).

That´s not easy to say😊

To Aschaffenburg/Bavaria I ride 150mls , to Berchtesgaden 480 mls. The only person from my home town you maybe know is Heidi Klum😆
I wish that I could say that I know her!!

WELOCME LOU!! Was just admiring your beautiful Oldsmobile!! I swear they exported all the good looking G bodies lol.... So happy the car has a good home where it can be enjoyed and appreciated!!

Welcome from West Virginia.

How far apart are Cologne and Bavaria?
But you moved too, didn't you? Where are you at now?

You're right, I moved about 200mls south. So now I'm just south of Munich in southern Bavaria, which is about 400mls from Cologne.

I was curious if any Members have been to Lou's part of the world?? I have. I used to work for a company based out of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. I flew into Amsterdam ( I'll leave the weed bars, and the red light district to your imagination). Toured the bay where the Rhine river empties into the North Sea. Had dinner in the space needle where you can see The Hague. Drove to Belgium for work. Toured the countryside where all the river channels feed the agriculture & flowers the Netherlands is famous for. It was a great trip, except for the 11-12 hour flights. Be prepared to watch 4-5 movies in a row...

I was stationed in W. Germany for 3 1/2 years, in Karlsruhe, close to the Rhine river and the eastern border of France. my wife is from Pforzheim, just west of Stuttgart. I did see the Netherlands a couple times on maneuvers, and saw a little bit of the country just touring. beautiful country, and as an 18 year old, I was blown away by it all. would love to go back someday, as my wife's family is still there.

Before my health condition escalated I was flying into Dusseldorf quite regularly to support Mercedes programs. We call it drizzledorf because it always seems to rain there. I also spent some time in Luneberg and Bavaria visiting suppliers. The salt mine and old cathedrals in Luneberg were interesting and of course Bavaria was beautiful. I'm now working on a BMW program which God willing will take me to Munich.

The dealer restored the old car but could not sell it, because there was a straight six 3.8l in it. He replaced it - now there is a 4.3l V8 in it.

If only they ever did get that 3.8L straight. At least by then it was even-fire.

What did the 4.3L V8 come out of?

The car is so bizzare, that the reactions are mostly funny.

Bizarre gorgeous!
