Looks great! can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks! The plan is coming along. I removed the front header panel and this weekend I will be pulling the engine back out and installing the 87 header panel. Following week the car is going to CA to get painted. The original plan was to get it into paint before the blazing AZ summer and seems like that will be the outcome after all. I was afraid parts wouldn't show up in time but I have what I need to get it down there. New bumpers fillers, and spoiler should be in this week. I just ordered a new t-type hood that won't be available for a few weeks but I am getting that shipped straight to the painters shop.

Wish I had the luxury of removing the heater box. If I want to take the passenger side VC off, I pretty much need to remove the engine. with a SBB it's a freakin tight fit, can't imagine what it'd be like with a 455, with the AC equipped cars. Looks good. I must've missed when you said it's getting a 455, neato.

As compared to your windows, hardtop windows have a wider "seal", the rubber bit surrounding the window, than the vinyl top windows do. If you fit a vinyl window to a hard top car, there will be a noticeable gap all the way around the window as the vinyl takes up that space. Of course, there is always the problem of these cars being 30 years old at their newest, so that rubber may have dry rotted off. That regal looks like an original hard top car, but you never know. Check for a gap, any gap, around the windows. If it's there, pass. Maybe someone can chime in if there's another way to ID them, like a visible stamping or number or something, but looking for the gap is the only was I know to ID them at a glance.

Here's some pics of my vinyl windows. You see the chrome trim, then the rubber above that. The rubber would be about 2x as wide on a HT.

In the top left corner of the window, you can faintly see the corner of the window th

In this pic you can see the rolled edge of the window hole in the body (purple), that would be covered by the rubber on the HT windows. Kinda hard to explain lol.

Rock auto sells new glass for all windows for the regals. They sell both hardtop and vinyl top windows. Says they are out of stock at the moment. You can put in your email to be notified when they are back in stock. Select 1986 v6 and then click body. They are listed as quarter window glass.
