I dont think so from what I have read. I may be wrong though. I know what makes the GN 2004r such a popular od trans is the gearing and the brc valve body

And the governor with the smaller weights so shifts are quicker. There is some good info here http://www.drwtransmission.com/thm_200-4r.htm So not all 2004r's are the same
