So I had a disagreement with my boss this morning and don't work there anymore. I feel pretty good about it actually. I've already got a few offers and I told them all truck first! So I got out to the building early lol I pulled the plugs out of the burnt 454 sprayed it with wd and gave it a spin with a ratchet on the balancer bolt and it's good just gonna send it! I changed the water pump with a used one that came in the box of Chevelle parts removed the fuel pump because I'll use mine and changed a couple of things on the intake. It's only temporary but I really need my truck now. Made a few extra bucks today one of the other guy came in with a car to be junked for 200 and I sold it for 5 so I made 3. That should help with the motor. I pulled the truck in and started on the bottom inspection cover is off converter bolts are out 4 bell bolts are out. The landlord Dave gave me a ride home and Janet is driving me back tomorrow

You wouldn't happen to have a part number for a mechanical fuel pump if you are running one? I have to pull this 461 from one of my k30's and swap it in a k5 2wd of mine, and would like to replace the annoying electrical fuel pump, and replace with mechanical one but cannot find one?!?! As it is a 74 chevelle engine bored out and what looks to be about an inch more than regular lengthed rod? As so to contact? The one in pic is just there to fill hole.
Dumb question, but does the cam have a fuel pump eccentric? If that cam was made with a Gen 5 block in mind, it may not have one at all.

I think one of my favorite things about your thread is how relatable what you keep dealing with (and through) is. Can't speak for anyone else, but every couple days I read something that reminds me of a time....

Seriously though, there is something to be said for a resoiution/finality to a situation. That lifts pressure, stress, and uncertainty worries. Thinks might be lean. And challenging, but you're on all accounts a hard worker and it's the time of the year for it.

When the plow comes together, maybe some firewood sales, little this, little that... one thing is for sure, now there's new fire to burn through the disillusionment af a Lil while ago

being self employed myself for over 10 years now I give you High Five ! You obviously have the determination and confidence to pull it off. Not for everyone but a path well worth taking. Wish you were closer so I could slide some work your way. Hand up scenario IMO. I look forward to your success !!

Thanks guys I appreciate the votes of confidence I actually lined up a blasting job today in the middle of pulling my new motor out. That said I got the motor out in about 2 hours today tomorrow morning I'll swap out some parts to the burnt one and throw it in now I'm off to support Lauren at band. So until tomorrow.
