my GP is same exactly...

What kind of interior came in thse cars? My car is somewhat of an oddball and it's close to what you guys describe, but not quite. I have silver upper, lower charcoal paint and a silver vinyl. My interior is in the sig. I've never seen either color combo on these.

Here are the pictures of my 1980 Pontiac Grand Prix ( Sterling Edition )

I notice that you say the car is an '80. did you put tail lights from a '78 on there?

I always thought the vehicle was a 1978/79 Grand prix, I never did see another car like it. When I heard of the sterling edition I thought that my car was a Early Sterling Edition because I have yet to see a Grand Prix like mine. The whole inside was black with silver trim, It had a middle console shifter and high back bucket seats. Is the car pictured a true sterling Edition or another kind of earlier special Editon ???.

Your guess is as good as mine. I've never even heard of the Sterling edition until recently. I ordered the original Ponitac sales literature from '78 (40p pamplet) so I'm hoping it may say something about it in there. The main reason I did get it was to find out more about my interior too.

It sounds like a catch phrase for marketing. Mabe a couple of stickers..? I personally had never heard of it before your post.

"For those not into racing, a midyear Grand Prix LJ Sterling Edition was seen for the first time, too. An option package included silver paint, a vinyl top, and a charcoal lower-body accent. Inside (what else?) was silver and black seating and trim."

Better come and get em. I have some people intrested in my car and (like when I sold our black 80) am giving 2 prices. One with the wheels and one without....Maybe even come get the whole car...I'd like to sell 5 Grand Ams again this year.

it could have been a 78/79 as in it could have been manufactured in 1979 but after june they would have marketed it as a 1980 but anyone who looks under the hood would say 1979... its half the reason buying parts for cars is a pain in the *ss for mechanics when they have a car that was right on the line like my moms car you need the freaking casting number just to know whether or not you need the 2005 model part or the 2006
