Just make sure the blockoff plate don't leak and you're good to go.

Yes they will work together.Where are you dumping the exhaust out ? I have 40's on one of my cars with H pipe and headers, no cats, sounds nice little rumble, not loud unless you step on it, it dumps at rear of car. On my olds/468 factory manifold, true duels, cats and 12" Cherry bombs, dumps just ahead of rear tires, sounds like a V-twin, really loud. On elcamino/305 same exhaust as olds but dumps at rear, nice sound, blats an krackles under throttle. Point is different tones depending on where you dump exhaust.

Can i still use the x pipes or it won't make a difference.

Depends on the tone your looking for , X pipe smooth's the tone or even's it out, they also claim that they flow more/less back pressure, so a touch more HP ! H pipes don't flow as much as it's more difficult for the exhaust to flow 45 degrees.
I personally like true duels as you can tell if one side is running different.
If your putting cats on they need to be within 3' of exhaust manifolds for them to work proper.
I use summit 2 1/2" 8" long honeycomb cats on Olds and Elcamino because there cheap and l only need them for safety inspections.

So just true duel straight to the back would be better performance and sound?

No X pipe flow max, H pipe in the middle, true duals sort of middle and the single at low !
Sound, well true duals to be sounds the best , X an H blend the 2 banks of the engine so it's a smoother tone !!

If you PM me your Facebook Messenger l'll send you videos of my Camaro/H pipe magnaflow/ no cats and the Olds/duels/cherry bomb/honeycomb cats running. Up to you or if you have Messenger.
