I was looking at a Holley 12-803 regulator as l don't trust the Carter pump to be correct. In the artictle I mentioned, they had Sean Murphy helping them out and he stated that Qjets like volume but not much pressure.

I agree a good regulator isn't cheap. I only mentioned cheap to run the test and if you end up selling it because you don't need it, you won't lose as much money. There may be another issue so why waste money?

i put a regulator on mine. ran better. smelled less at idle. set to 4.5.

.135 inlet seat which is standard for high performance rebuilds. The Delphi pumps develops 9 psi just at starter cranking speed. Float height is set at 11/32.
