Stock Gbody steering box, 600 or 700 series?

The box with a Z is an F body box. I have one in my GP for now until I put the Delphi box back in. I think Jack has one as well and they work good but with the stops you're turning circle will be increased. The Z box will give you a heavier feel and is a quick ratio box.

Any idea what exact ratio it is?

the raised "z" casting is just that. it does not designate the ratio or angle of pitman arm swing. the markings your looking for are ink stamped on the end cap, opposite end from where the steering column attaches, and by this age are hard to see.
the 12.7:1 ratio is the number in degrees the steering wheel turns to the number of degrees the pitman arm moves.

Got a IROC Z box in my El Camino, and the springs and sway bar. Great improvement over the stock parts.
