Stuck door

I bought a el camino door from part a part not to long ago and put it on my car. It was working fine till one day I went to open the door and it wouldnt open nor bulge I never got a chance to put the door panels on before it started acting up so i have pulled the handle and rod numerous times. To me it seems like the door latch in not disengaging or releasing so I can open the door. Any ideas to open me with this issue and open the door. Its a 82 El camino

drench it with a lubricant

on mine the passenger door is a PITA to open, but i figured it out, what ya have to do is pull the lock up HARD, inna jerking motion. or as i say it, like a MAN! do that and with the window open from the out side and kinda lift the door and the handle at the same time. looks like yer due for some new hinges or a door alignment. and some grease for the lock and door mech.
