Did you put the s10 serpentine system on yet?

The power steering pulley is going to hit the steering box

I belive what you are referring to is the rag joint in the steering shafts. There are a quite a few posts here about replacing the old rag joint steering shafts with newer steering shafts that use U joints, like the Astro or Grand Cherokee shafts.
Thanks for the advice. I haven't had a problem with loose steering, just the power steering pump that was being used when the 454 was swapped in was a 60's original pump.. and it fried shortly after. I take the car around town without power steering, but I should be up and running next week with the new set up! Thanks!

Noooo! I hope not!. I Bought the adapters from Kwik Performance... Hoping It works on its own, if not, I'll have to make adjustments to make it work. I think it might depend on what year Big Block? I know the early years are different ever so slightly than the later years on the Kwik Performance web site for the bracket adapter plates they sell. I'll be finding out first hand this week or next.

Here's their site.

Actually with the link you posted you may get lucky and have clearance.

But if you just bought the plates and are going to use the GM brackets the pulley will hit.

Please let me know if it works.

I'm curious how did the kwik brackets work on your bbc?

Hey, So. I've run in to MANY problems while going through this process but after seeing you posted I took pictures yesterday. I just posted up in a thread I had started about possibly going manual steering rack (which I am not) but I was putting a feeler out there. Now I am back on here because the brackets I got from Kwik Performance did not work for my application. I am going to give the company a chance first to problem solve this, and if not then I am going to be on here looking for more information and such. I currently have brackets from an '89 Caprice that had serpentine on the small block and used Kwik Performance plates to adapt the brackets to my big block. I bought a brand new water pump that's reverse flow for the serpentine, new pulley, adapter plate for the small block crank pulley, new accessories from newer cars and everything else. Here's the list of problems I've had so far, followed by the pictures I promised.
-Crank adapter worked fine, had to drill the holes larger for the bolts going through the to the balancer.
-driver side bracket that holds the Alt and Power steering pump DOES NOT FIT G-Body with this application. I am currently trying to fit a powersteering pump with a can on it like all GM's have, and there is no way it would possibly clear without removing the power steering box off the frame rail. The left side of the same bracket does not clear the brand new power steering pump because of the ear that hangs off the pump.
-Some of the hardware from Kwick performance did not fit the head bolts that they were intended to for difference in thread...
- the smooth pulley for the water pump that they had sold me does not line up with the new water pump, I have to oblong the holes and hope that the center dowel is enough to keep the balance so I don't get a vibration at higher RPMs.

ANY advice you can offer me would be great. If you need part numbers of what I am working with I'd be happy to provide but I think most of it is pretty straight forward with what you are used to working with in your cars.

I would suggest to plug the ports on the steering box while the lines are off so no dirt and debris can fall into the steering box...

If you are still driving with the pump off I would add fittings and loop a line between them and top off the fluid before connecting it so at least it can get some lubrication when turning.
