Makes me wonder if you didn't have a way to tune and monitor your Turbo Buick. Some uniformed people turn up the boost and don't fuel it properly etc and kill them. Then after becoming broke and frustrated downgrade to something every bubba with a garage door has worked on and get replacement speed parts at the local Kmart on a blue light special. Yea put side pipes on it and big mud flaps then please paint it red and put Monte Carlo emblems on it. If you weren't looking to poke someone you would have just asked if anyone thought sidepipes looked good on a black regal. Or stated that you recently acquired a warranted 383 and was hoping to have better luck with it. Scraping two turbo Buicks sounds to a lesser degree like scraping (instead of selling, sour grapes) the Hemi in your original 70 Cuda for a 318 for mileage and putting a hugh ricer spoiler on the trunk.

Get over yourself a gn isnt worth sh*t either way. My matching numbers 66 stingray was just appraised for $110,000. But im sure your smarter and more experianced than anyone on this board from how you talk and you are deffinately not a redneck hillbilly by anymeans, you've just proved you ignorance and lack of IQ by your own closedmindedness on this thread.

I had long tube header, 2`of 2.5` pipe into the shortest 2.5`glasspacks i could get, then turned out to exit just if front of the rear wheel. It was L O U D ! made it 6 blocks from the shop before I got pulled over and I wasn`t driving hard because I knew the cop was there. No ticket because was just on there to drive it to the body shop. But I would recommend using a lil quieter muffler if going that route. JMO

thank you for convincing me Sir I also had my doubts with the glasspacks, I've chosen to go with pypes x pipe setup with rear side exits not bad for around $400

Brisbon....when was the last time you got scolded like this.....

I got nothing to get over and never said the GN was worth big money but you followed my point.

if you want to do it they sell kits to hook up to the headers that you have to modify.....I think the yanko nova's had an option for side pipes so that might help you out

GN may not be worth as much, but has the potential to beat the sh*t outta your stingray... just saying.

What happened to all the good parts on the turbo 6 motors? i'm assuming you tossed them. you can sell a stocker for around 1k... i would've gladly taken those two blocks. here we go again putting a chevy in everything...

:-/

The only correct way to allow a 500hp motor to breathe with side pipes is to get an aftermarket set where the primarys flow into the side pipes.

Now on the note of putting a 383 in a Grand National, thats dumb. Sorry. It doesnt matter if your 66' vette is worth $110,000. I have a boss that would more than likely be able to fill you in on how inflated of an evaluation of worth that more than likely is. I hope its got a 425hp 427, a good color combo, AC, beautifully restored, and low original miles.

You need to find a real builder for that 3.8 and if your convinced you want an easier to work on warrantied car then sell your grand nat, by a regal and use the money to completely do your project. The point is that the 3.8 is just as stout and runs with the big dogs no problem when done properly. Something clearly hasnt been done properly in your case and honestly thats not a good reason to bastardize your car.

This is exactly why I went with a H/O and not a GN. I know NOTHING about turbo's (actually know more about superchargers than turbo's) and didn't want to slaughter a GN/GNX. But, then again, I originally bought it to be a daily driver which is not what they became.

I'm hoping to get into the turbo buicks.

i guess learning about turbo chargers and electronics is like anything else, get enough wrench time in as possibls then hop on the forums and read. thats how i learned what i know about the g-body cars so far.
