I'm wondering if the skeleton for the radio needs swapped as well as the front plate.Choose the middle steering wheel and put an Olds rocket in the center of it.
The radio currently isn't like the radios you got in the picture. So there's going to be a bit of mods going on to get one to fit. Never went backwards on fitting in a newer radio in the older dash, so it may be easier than I thought, but either way, you'll need a new radio plate for 84-up style.
That wing? You sure about wanting that? 🤔
The visors? Visors shoudn't have the extra clips on them for pivot points supports above the mirror. Don't know what those came out of. Likely a big car or newer car because of the extensions. Definitely not an A/G body. They MIGHT work, but I dunno. Just be aware.
And finally, just some tips. Do whatever you want, but I'd approach it differently. Make the car as reliable and road-worthy as possible FIRST. Even if it takes a year or so to get it there. Then after it's tuned, wheels alignned, new tires, repacked/new bearings as needed, shocks whatever it needs, THEN I'd start worrying about performance upgrades and stuff. Establish your baseline first. Otherwise, you're just going to end up being another two-bit wannabe. Use the money saved to snoop around and maybe find a solid running 350 or if someone has a 383 short block they no longer need, etc....THEN build that engine like you want, do a weekend swap and build it as a package. Yeah, you can pump up the volume a bit on the 305, but in reality, don't waste money on doing a whole lot with it. It IS a 305 after all. Or, just do whatever you like. You don't have to please anyone but yourself.
The wing was bought to resell at a profit, but I have it so I threw it into the mix.
I was told the visors would work (88-92 Buick Regal), if not these things and many others were purchased over the last 2 years to either use or sell.
Excellent advice on taking your time and modifying things after you've established a well put together vehicle. I'm absolutely making sure that it's mechanically sound before doing any unnecessary mechanical mods- I've learned this lesson the hard way before. Also, I'm hoping to have my truck back on the road in a couple months so Gina will become the backup. I might continue altering the aesthetics slowly though, I really, really can't start another project right now. I had 4 new tires installed last Thursday for safety's sake. I greased all the fittings, and the wheel bearings feel fine but need packed when the brakes get addressed. The alignment is spot on- she can drive herself for 2 miles near where I'm staying.
If I did beef up the 305 the first option was just to get more pep and make it competitive on the freeway, the second was an "all out but never gonna happen" scenario. I was really just letting my mind wander, I can't help it sometimes.
The th200C shifts just like it should with the exception of a 2-3 flare, so it might get a shift improver kit from Superior when I service it. She definitely needs shocks, body mounts, all the bushings, etc..
A major hurdle right now is money. I have literally none. Buying this car set my life plans back by a solid 3 months, and they'd already been pushed by a year.
Right now I'm putting in Silverstar headlights so I can better see the deer that are all over the place. But that has turned into polishing the chrome trim rings and bezels too.
