Awesome thank you. I like the pic too it looks great! Is your m20 a wide ratio and how do you like it?
No problem!
It's a wide ratio, (M21 and M22 are close ratios). It works well, and the gear whine sounds awesome behind a healthy motor!
Take time when setting up the shifter linkages correctly and you will have smooth and relatively low effort shifts.
One thing is I have it running with 4.10 rear gear, which may be a bit too steep for the M20 first gear. I might be better off in the 3.55- 3.70 range.

PS I was looking at the chart below and I might be wrong for the Muncie and T10 having identical shifter mount holes, so double check before you grab that shifter!

Are you referring to the mount holes on the tailshaft?

Ok Ill keep an eye on that, thanks again. I have my eye on a T-10 but it has no linkages or shifter. Looks like its gonna l be a little work finding one for under several hundred dollars ....

No problem, They definitely aren't cheap. Are you set on a T-10 / Muncie? Or would you consider a Saginaw. Saginaw would give the factory appearance for what it's worth

Not overly concerned with keeping factory appearance, just wanted to keep my bench. I like the shifter you posted quite a bit

Here's a posting about installing a Super T10 into a Malibu with the shifter installed in the stock floor location. Keep in mind the stock shifter location on a Saginaw is basicly the same place as the reverse arm location of a Muncie & T10/Super T10.
gnvair did a nice job of making a mounting set up to place the shifter in a position close to where it matches the position on the Saginaw 3 & 4 speed.

I saw that write up. Since mine is th350 originally i do not have a factory shifter hump, i would be cutting a hole either way.

Do y'all know if the T10 will fit without needing tunnel modifications etc? One thing i dont want to do is have to "massage" the tunnel

No issues as all three transmissions are simular in size, can use the same driveshaft as the TH350. Might have to change the yoke depending on the tailshaft spline count on a Muncie or T10. Also keep in mind if using mechanical clutch linkage you'll need the '78-'81 A/G body bellhousing & fork. As for an option for the shifter you could try to find a Comp Plus that would mount the shifter as far forward on the tailhousing to try to clear the bench. Bad thing is since Holley has taken ownership of Hurst they have discontinued a good bit of install kits & related parts like the kit for Saginaw in our cars.
