T-10 with bench seat

No issues as all three transmissions are simular in size, can use the same driveshaft as the TH350. Might have to change the yoke depending on the tailshaft spline count on a Muncie or T10. Also keep in mind if using mechanical clutch linkage you'll need the '78-'81 A/G body bellhousing & fork. As for an option for the shifter you could try to find a Comp Plus that would mount the shifter as far forward on the tailhousing to try to clear the bench. Bad thing is since Holley has taken ownership of Hurst they have discontinued a good bit of install kits & related parts like the kit for Saginaw in our cars.
Thanks for the great info, very helpful.

No issues
Would # 3899621 bell housing work? Its fitment is quite a bit broader than 78-81 a/g

I want to run post-87 roller 350. Does that mean i need to run 153 tooth flywheel or does it matter?

That won't work, thats the "fits all" "muscle car" bellhousing that's being repopped. You'll need to find one out of a '78, most likely from a El Camino or GMC Carballero. Only the SBC 350 had the 11" clutch that year. Odds are you'll be using the 10.4"/153 tooth set up. Here's a pic of the 462606 10.4" clutch bellhousing with correct fork that will work with all '78-'81 A/G bellhousings. Even look at the ball stud on the left side, that's the correct position for our cars only.

Now there is a way to use the 11"/168 tooth bellhousing but you'll have to go with a hydraulic throw out bearing conversion & get the correct adapter/reinforcement firewall bracket.

^ Looks like 4speedconversions has the bellhousing in stock. (I bought several small items for my conversion from them)

^ I've heard this store recommended before. The kit in the link is missing clutch fork and a few items but I think theyre sold separate on the same site.

Ok Ill keep an eye on that, thanks again. I have my eye on a T-10 but it has no linkages or shifter. Looks like its gonna l be a little work finding one for under several hundred dollars ....
Was a guy on Craig’s list out of Vt. That rebuilds transmissions and linkages. May have one if you can’t find one locally. Here is a picture of one of his ad’s

I installed a Muncie M20 (same dimensions and shifter mounting as a T10) and used a hurst comp plus Part # 3913780 with 81 Lemans bench seat.
It's a shifter designed for a 55-57 chevy bench seat
There was much more clearance to the seat than I thought , so for me it actually sat too far forward and needed to be modified!
Looking back I'd be tempted to try something like the Hurst # 3916848 shifter which looks like something for a late 60's nova.
Can't make any guarantees though so experiment at your own risk!
Ottawa, the clearance looks good to me! How far do you have the seat back? I am 5'11 but like to be on top of the pedals and wheel

Guys is this the right bell? Says 462606 and looks to have the offset ball stud location
