Glad your son is ok. He has youth on his side which is about the best thing you can have from a recovery standpoint. Sorry about your truck, but look at it this way: because you took such care of that truck, that's what your son was driving and why he walked away. Good job!

been there, done that, got the scars to show for it...glad he's ok, and was nothing but cuts and bruises.I know it sounds cliche', but vehicles can be replaced but lives can't.

This is why my wife insists on large "safe" vehicles (she is eye-balling a Tahoe/Suburban to replace her Colorado) and high-end safety equipment for our kids - because you just never know. Speedy recovery to your boy, and I bet the next bodycheck he takes won't feel so bad. 😉

Accidents can really shake up your body and some of the reminants of the injuries can pop up at a later date. I spend years in therapy from an accident....

Wow ! That could've been much worse ! Your sons a lucky kid.
Over the years Ive always driven large vehicles. Same with my wife. Full size SUVs. Back in 1992 my wife called me at work and told me she was rear ended at an intersection. She was ok and so was my son who was 3 at the time. I drove to the scene and a Toyota was being hoisted up on to a roll off. Grill, hood, bumper and radiator demolished. After I checked on my wife and son I walked around the back of her full size 91 Jimmy. Paint was scraped off the class 3 hitch and some of the other cars paint on the rear bumper.
Usually he who has the larger vehicle wins.

This jerk on a cell phone runs a Red light at 50mph and t-bones my 17 year old son and totals my truck! Fortunately he was not seriously injured or killed. 16 stitches in his knee and a lot of sore body parts.View attachment 124285
So sorry to here that, Thank God he is ok!!!.....These smart phones make a lot of people DUMB!

Glad to hear that your Son only got a little banged up. By the look of the truck, it could have been much worse. Accidents are a parents worst nightmare. I got the call at 4 AM 23 years ago. Helicopter, brain surgery, 10 days of it could go either way. As the Surgeon said; youth is everything. He was 22 and luck was with us. After rehab, he was in the top 2 percent that come back. He's a Science Teacher, married, 2 Sons and one in the oven. Life is good. Both of us are "lucky" Fathers.

My greatest nightmare: rubberheads on the phone. Glad to hear he is OK. As noted- be aware of later complications. My Wife got knocked down in a crosswalk by an idiot woman driver and 20 years later is still hurting from it.
