What is everyone do about reverse lockout on a t56? Working on installing a t56 in my car. Keep it or remove it?

I'm using a line lock/nitrous button shifter ball on a hurst shifter.

I use it, controlled by the stock ECM.

I've heard people swap or cut the spring so it's lighter.

It's a pain to put it in reverse without it connected.

Not run a ecm

I've heard people hook it to the brake light circuit as you probably have the brakes on when you're putting it in reverse, but it gets messy because it's switching on all the time and might burn the coil out over time, not sure if that's anything too worry about.
