I finally got the tach working today. For those of us who are mechanically challenged here is how you do it.
1. Locate the brown wire in the firewall somewhere near the distributor.
2. Pull your gauge cluster out and look for a white wire. Mine had a clamp on it and was attached to the dash frame on the left side of the radio.
3. Connect your tach filter wire (which is brown) to the brown wire you found on the firewall. Run the other end of the tach filter wire thru the firewall and connect it to the white wire.
4. Go to the back of the tach and look for three small threaded studs. Place the tach studs thru the circuit board and secure with nuts.
5. Replace the gauge cluster and lord willing your tach will work.
