Anytime you do open the heart of your car up and put it back together to hear it beat again your attached. Lol. Doing something you never done before with success in a great feeling.

the cars up on jack stands in the front and ready to take those headers off but i have a plate in my arm and its killing me today i think ive been putting too much stress on it so imma take a break but i have had something on my mind you said to control boost you need an adjustable thing that swings that little lever right? the old one is basically stuck to be wide open all the time is that bad? it seems like it would be

If it's stuck wide open then car would make no boost. Are you sure is stuck wide open. Look inside exhaust elbow there is a little 3/4" round puck connected to that lever is it covering the little hole? The actuator is designed to hold the puck closed so boost can be made. Then once you let out of the gas the waste gate selinoid lets the pressure go activateing the wastegate actuator which in turn opens that puck dumping the boost off. If it didnt open at all boom there goes the headgasket. Stuck open no boost at all and car would be a tipical 3.8 snail.

its stuck being pulled closest to the actuator i dont know if it ever pushes but i think it constantly being pulled on, maybe thats why my headgasket blew? ive had a cutlass with the carbed 3.8 and trust me this thing hauls *ss compared to that lol.

got one of two on drivers side for headers to come off boy was it a b*tch im gonna let the other one soak and maybe bust out the compressor and air gun my dad gave me over a year ago and never used

also the bolts are rusty as hell i could put new ones right just use the same sise? some day hopefully years from now il thank myself i thought i was gonna break my socket or wrench lol

The actuator should be pulling it closed the rod will push when boost needs to be dumped. They are known to go bad and could verywell be why hg blew. Or it could have blew from age. The only way to tell os to install a boost gauge in car when back together your car should build no more then 8-9psi i believe. If it goes well beyond that you have a problem.

Number one must for these cars is
Scanmaster
Boost/vac gauge
And a knock gauge.
