Yup thats the gasket now trash. The lifter valley looks clean i would beleive 97k by the looks of that. Use a shop vac and suck the antifreeze up it most likely came out of intake when you removed it. And yes the bolts needs to come out might have to take the whole pump off.

Just a fyi that isnt coolant mixed with oil. Its just coolant. If it was mixed it would look like a milkshake whiteish. So thats a good thing.

i just so happend to have a shop vac so i cleaned it up. yea my oil never had water always looked good and coolant too but i was losing coolant at a rate that was a little too quick for me id have to put like a half of the container every 3 days it would smoke alot at first then u wouldnt see smoke but the exhaust smelled sweet

. Doesnt really matter now to late to turn back now.Lol. While your at it install a new water pump and t-stat.

i did that before doing all this lol.

took all the bolts out the manifold on the drivers side and now only those two holding them to the exhaust, also took out the bolts from the p/s pump. once its done can i take the drivers side head off yet?

also how do you go about dismantling it? take the rods out first right

white smoke and losing coolant is for sure the heads right i didnt do all this for nothing i hope lol and it was starting to get the shakes

White smoke is usually a good sign of a hg. If you removed rocker shafts/pushrods and the headers are off or you can get to the bottom head bolts. You are ready for removal. Check on back side of passenger side head make sure the grounds wires are unbolted from the head.

hmm i didnt even know a ground was back there but i still gotta unbolt the manifolds from the middle part but i only got a cheap jack that comes with cars so i think imma wait till tomorow to get a better one and some stands.

i havnt removed rocker shafts and pushrods either once i take those 3 tiny bolts out do they simply come right out also in picure of the valley on the right side of picture 3 rods down u can see at the base what looks like a plastic ring why only that one has it

tonight i might just clean some of my parts up or maybe later il try with that crasy *ss jack lol

Once you remove the 3 bolts on rocker shaft all the rocker will just lift off becareful not to be to ruff the plastic retainer in center of rocker will break off. Then the pushrods pull right out. Looked at pic dont see what your talking about. I will look again. It could be a piece of gasket that broke off.
